About Caroline Cheshire

Caroline Cheshire decided to call her internet gift company Healing Baskets because her company is dedicated to encouraging physical, mental or spiritual healing.

Caroline enjoyed a successful career in marketing in theUK,Hollandand theUS, but decided when pregnant with twins, it was time to focus on home for a while. After a run of losses and ill health, Caroline learned that friends and family can get you through anything.

Unfortunately she didn’t have many friends. Caroline had moved to a new country, a new town, suffered two miscarriages, then added twins to her family of two daughters and been told she had Thyroid cancer. At the same time, her husband was struggling to make his start-up company a success.

She says:Between moving, leaving my job and having the twins,I didn’t really have time to make friends,but I had my Mom and husband. My Mom flew fromEnglandtwice in one year to be with me, and I will be eternally grateful. I don’t know what we would have done without her.”

What Caroline learned was that very few people know how to handle the situation when a friend’s life takes a turn for the worst. At first she was angry that people should have known better. Then she turned that anger into helping and guiding people to do better.

Most people send flower arrangements, which are lovely in ones and twos. But after my miscarriage, the delivery man asked if it was my birthday, and the flowers just depressed me. My house looked like a funeral home and they were work.”

But one day, a visitor opened the door to healing, which caused Caroline to think long and hard about what that person had done right’. She followed that up by attending a guidance course at a local college.

I have always been fascinated by people’s reactions to things. I’m a people watcher – ask my poor husband – but once you have been through something really bad, you start noticing all the pain that people around you are carrying.

All these experiences brought Caroline to this place, along with many coincidences’. Whether it was stumbling into healing artist Nancy Winternight’s web site and finding out she had just painted something that Caroline had in her head’ or her Uncle leaving her some money when funding was the obstacle. When one door closed, another door always opened.

“My hope is that Healing Baskets will give a person something, whether gifts, words or just the courage to reach out, so that they won’t miss the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life when they need it most.”
