Living Outside The Box!
Women have the feeling that since they didn’t make the rules, the rules have nothing to do with them.
-Diane Johnson
In my business I work with former (or existing) corporate gals who are in transition a transition where the catalyst for their growth and evolvement is the desire to either grow (or shift) their existing creative entrepreneurial venture, or define and receive clarity on the kind that they’d like to start.
And what’s so beautiful about this process of exploration, visioning and receiving clarity on what they desire for life and business is – women are always surprised to discover what they really care about may not be what they initially thought.
See for us current (or former) corporate gals who don’t, and never did, fit into the mold of working for someone else and having to be at a certain place at a certain time – we realize soon enough how much we value life and having the freedom and flexibility to explore it and all it’s offerings – more than anything else.
And through this realization and excavation process, many clients are surprised to realize that who they thought they were isn’t necessarily who they really are on the inside.
Almost always women initially come to me looking for a plan a roadmap to get them from Point A to Point Z. And even though I have a process, and bring them from Point A to Point Z in our work together, they soon realize that it’s more about providing a travel guide on their journey more than anything else.
See for us women who have a heart’s desire to not be fenced in, controlled, or told what to do – a roadmap won’t work it’s too limiting and it will create the same mediocre results that you so desperately want to change in the first place.
And it can be difficult and uncomfortable to realize this face literally step-outside the box, because you face complete and total ambivalence – where your heart pulls you to more freedom, adventure and spirit-filled days – yet your head pulls you down like ankle weights directing you toplay it safely.
What’s so magical about this however is former (or current) corporate gals not only make amazing creative entrepreneurs because we have the self-starter and results-oriented thing down, but we also have a whole new terrain to be able to explore and discover about ourselves a free-spirited, adventurer who longs to creatively express and live life to the fullest, while getting things done!
What about for you? What does living outside of the box mean to you specifically?
You may have that woman in your mind the woman you daydream about – who steps-out fully and shines in her glory who marches to the beat of her own drum and draws people and opportunities to her like rays of sunshine. Whose successful, free, creative, glowing, joyous, and happy.
Yet, have you ever given yourself permission to go beyond the daydream and actually begin to believe you could live like that?
It’s amazing for me to look back at the woman I was just a few short years ago. The woman who thought she had no other choice then to do the 3-hour commute into the city, working for a boss and company I didn’t respect, – and realize and how much my value-system has shifted since then.
Not only has my own business been an amazing spiritual and personal awakening but it’s been an amazing catalyst for me to discover who I really am, how I prefer to operate, and what work-style and life-style works best for me. And what’s even more beautiful is this will consistently evolve and change as I evolve and change.
And the same can true for you it’s all about being authentic and authentic to me isn’t just saying what you’d like to have, and pasting it on your vision board – but actually making the commitment to live that way to take the leaps, believe you deserve it, and have the courage to claim it.
To Claim Your Worth means that you simply claim you allow you allow yourself permission to live by your own light, to have the life-style and work-style you desire, and to not have anyone tell you any different.
So as I always do, I’ll ask you a question: What does living authentically mean to you personally and professionally? And what’s stopping you from living that way and claiming and allowing all that you deserve?
