Create Those Systems
Last week I had the opportunity to speak in front of a group of Mary Kay Consultants and Directors in the Bay Area.
As I prepared for my presentation, I was continually amazed at the systems that are in place throughout the Mary Kay organization. There are systems for Money Management, Goal Setting, Lead Generation and Lead Conversion. There are scripts for newer consultants and forms to guide your day to day business activities.
These systems are what make the Mary Kay brand recognized throughout the world. The client receives the same general experience time after time, no matter where they are and who their consultant is.
Systems that work are what make businesses more efficient. Whether you have a hundred employees or none, each time you know what to do and how to do it you do not have to spend the time reinventing the wheel. Rather, you can focus your time on growing your business: coming up with new strategies, products and services.
Take a look again at your business and think about what systems are missing that you can design. Our featured book is Michael Gerber’s E-Myth Revisited. He explains in depth how and why systems are the key to a successful business. If you have not already, I encourage you to read it.
