Moms, StepMoms, Grandmothers and Aunties – Step Up and Lets Make Society sensitive to children without parents in their lives!

I have heard this story too many times in my life and today on Girlfriends 2.0 radio show on the Diva Toolbox Radio Network with Girlfriends 2.0 Author, Cindy W Morrison we had an open and honest conversation with other women about this issue…

So what is the issue – bringing awareness to society that not every child has a mom or dad in their life – for many reasons – and that we need to be more sensitive when scheduling events that would make them feel left out.

For example…

• Father and daughter dances
• Making Mother’s Day cards in school
• Veteran’s and Memorial Days for children who have lost a parent serving in the military
• Grandparents Day at School
• Father/son day at the baseball game
• the list goes on

Now we are not saying that others should not celebrate with their loved ones but we are saying schools, religious organizations, and other clubs and activities that help children honor their loved ones be aware of EVERY child’s family situation.

You cannot imagine the sadness of child who already feels sad about their family member not being able to participate
