Has Anyone Seen My Ankles?? – The Famous Ginger Root Soak

GINGER
SOAK

Now I
have absolutely no idea where this recipe came from, a midwife along the way, I
read it somewhere; maybe I just made it up, who knows? It doesn’t matter the point is it really
works in helping to reduce and sometimes eliminate swelling. Especially that
end of the day, third trimester, damn my legs are tired feeling as you look
down and realize you can’t see your ankle bones. Well this is what you are
going to do, I recommend that you sit and relax for at least 15 minutes at a
time and at least three times a week whether you have swelling or not in this
wonderfully refreshing, circulation stimulating ginger foot soak. Allegedly
fresh ginger aids in stimulating circulation; who knew? This can also be used
for achy or swollen wrists.

I’ve said it a million times, outside of third
trimester lower back pain nothing takes a bigger hit during the pregnancy then
the legs, you have your swollen feet, occasional leg cramp, varicose veins for
some, mostly because of extra fluid volume and a lack of circulation due to
poor posture. The fun never stops!
Watch the posture video, on massageamom.com, better posture, better movement, better
circulation and let’s not forget stronger body.
P.S. where are your shoulders?

OK
here’s what you do.

Boil 12
cups of water, add about 12 ounces of fresh ginger root sliced, stir, cover and
remove from heat. I recommend you let
mixture brew overnight on stove and in the morning put in fridge until ready to
use.

Now
break out the foot bath and add 3 cups of your ginger brew to enough COOL water
to cover your ankles or cankles. The
Key word here is COOL water should be almost cold (so make sure you pee first).
Now just sit and relax have a cup of red raspberry leaf tea and read something
good from the book club. Oh life is good!
