Why do I do the things I do? I really want to do the right thing; I
just don’t. Why? Am I losing my mind, my memory or is it I am getting
to where I just don’t care?
Even though we don’t always think about it, all these
responses start with the brain. Our brain is the operations center for
our functionality; and it is a major contributor to who we are, who we
are going to be and the memories of who we were.
Is it the brain that makes us do the things we do? Consider that the
brain is an organ that stores and processes information. It is what we
do with that information that makes us who we are and that drives us to
what we do.
We learn to control our brain by doing; just as an infant will
learn by doing -sucking, crawling, climbing, spinning, cooing, talking,
reading, walking and developing relationships with parents, siblings
and their community. In other words we teach the infant to gather
information then manage that information by training their brain to do
these new behaviors. We teach ourselves and those we are responsible
for to gather information and manage that information by training their
brain to perform these new behaviors.
One can have the highest IQ in the world and fail third grade.
One can have the largest brain in the world and still be unable to read
a high school diploma. So where is the intelligence factor and
