Living the Proverbs 31 Life – Proverbs 31:20

Proverbs 31:20 She opens her hand to the poor, yes, she reaches out her filled hands to the needy [whether in body, mind, or spirit].

The Proverbs 31 Woman is benevolent and compassionate. Because she seeks God and walks in his wisdom, she is a blessed woman. She has been blessed to be a blessing. The scripture says her hands are “filled” and from those filled hands, she gives to the needy. We always have something that we can give. We can give of our material substance, our godly wisdom, or from our Holy Spirit-filled spirits. There’s no excuse to not help those less fortunate. It says she “opens” her hand, so she makes the choice to give. We should all choose to give. Giving is an attitude and once we assume this attitude, God will bless us with more to give. Don’t say, “Well, when I get rich, I’ll give.” You’ll never get there. However, if you survey what you already have and give from that substance, God will bless you with more. You’ll become rich as a result of your giving attitude. The Bible says if you give to the poor you will not lack. (See Proverbs 28:27.). It also says if you sow bountifully, you’ll reap bountifully. It further says that God will make all grace abound towards you, that you will always have all sufficiency, in all things, to abound to every good work. (See II Cor. 9:8.). Finally, the Bible also says that whatsoever good thing you make happen for another, God will make happen for you. (See Eph. 6:8.). So, get filled up on the love of God and give as the Holy Spirit directs, whether in body, mind or spirit, and God will flood your life with abundance.
