Living the Proverbs 31 Life – Proverbs 31:21 and 22

Proverbs 31:21 She fears not the snow for her family, for all her household are doubly clothed in scarlet.

The Proverbs 31 Woman does not fear the natural nor the spiritual snow for her family. Her entire household is protected. Her family is protected from natural snow (frozen precipitation) by being doubly clothed. They are also protected from the spiritual “snow job” of the devil because they are doubly clothed in scarlet. This scarlet is the Blood of Jesus. It is reminiscent of Joshua 2:18-19 where Rahab the Harlot, let down a scarlet cord and her entire household was saved from destruction. She trusted in the God of the Israelites, obeyed, and was kept and blessed to the extent that she became a part of the lineage of Jesus Christ.

Be smart like these two very different women and stay under the Blood! Obviously, God is no respecter of persons. He’ll keep a former prostitute, as well as, a Proverbs 31 Woman. He’ll keep anybody who wants to be kept. Stay under the Blood!

Proverbs 31:22 She makes for herself coverlets, cushions, and rugs of tapestry. Her clothing is of linen, pure and fine, and of purple [such as that of which the clothing of the priests and the hallowed cloths of the temple were made].

The Proverbs 31 Woman, the woman who walks in the wisdom of God, is intrinsically royal. She knows her self-worth and she is dignified. Her choice in clothing shows forth her royalty. Both fine linen and the color purple are associated with royalty. It is also a reference to the anointing – the burden-removing, yoke-destroying power of God. It is the anointing which makes us royal. We are, indeed, a royal priesthood. She is covered in the clothing of priests and the hallowed cloths of the temple. She is covered in the anointing and so is her house.

What a woman…you are! Be blessed you Proverbs 31 Woman. Seek His face, receive His anointing, and walk in it!
