Mark the date – Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 12 noon! MDSC is proud to again present two of our favorite events of the year – the annual Buddy Walk and Family Picnic. In addition to promoting our goal of raising public awareness about Down syndrome, this event is our organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Last year over 1,700 people participated in this event in Wakefield and raised more than $189,000. With your help, we believe that we can top those figures this year and make this event the most successful ever!
Consider joining our team for the Buddy Walk and recruit your family and friends to support our team through donations to MDSC. Following the walk, join us for a festive family picnic and a chance to mingle with other families who support the efforts of MDSC. Funds raised from the Buddy Walk are used to operate all of the MDSC sponsored programs including: Parents’ First Call, the Educator’s Forum, the annual MDSC Conference, and the Advocates in Motion (AIM) program for Teens and Young Adults with Down syndrome. A portion of funds raised also support the National Down Syndrome Society that originated the Buddy Walk.
