Validation

The Universe speaks to me (and to us all, if we listen) through friends. Recently, my friend and co-worker Peggy was the conduit through which deep wisdom came. She sent me an email that linked me to a beautiful 15 minute video that you can view by going to a website called Daily Good.

Initially the tongue in cheek meaning of the word ‘validation’ was pretty mundane and then the powerful message came through that we all thrive on validation not just for what is seen on the outside, but also on the beauty that shines from within. How often do we offer that to ourselves or each other? As we age, the mirror can become a place that we dread visiting, because in it we see lines and wrinkles; the toll that the years may have taken on us. Imagine instead, that the mirror is a metaphor for the ways in which the world views us and reflects back whatever it is that we are putting forth.

I invite you to take a few moments right now to be your own cheerleader. Come up with at least 5 inner qualities or aspects of yourself and at least 5 outer qualities that you can validate.
