Casting Your Light

How you cast your light into the world says a lot about you and how events unfold in your life. If you would like to develop or enhance this area of your life, you can arrange your space to do just that!

Take a floor plan of your home and draw a box around it. Next overlay a grid of 9 spaces, similar to a tic-tac-toe board. From a feng shui perspective, the center back area of your space relates to you how you are viewed publicly. It relates to illumination and letting your inner light shine. This area is also about the energy of clarity and integrity. We call this area Fame and Reputation.

The Fame and Reputation gua is energized by the Fire element. Fire energy is brilliant and transformative and is symbolized by the energy of summer. Summer is an expansive time. The days are long and we often lighten our schedules to spend more time enjoying this season.

Clearing, cleaning, enhancing or energizing the Fame gua of your house or space can be very helpful if you would like to:

Expand your life or spread ideas

Express your ideas more fully

Have more social interaction or network with others

Achieve more recognition, acknowledgement, or success

Increase, strengthen or develop integrity

Create more visibility

Become more well known

Increase publicity for yourself or your work

Be more passionate

Develop charisma

You can also give attention to this gua if you:

Are experiencing eye or heart trouble

Would like to decrease high blood pressure

Would like to balance your thyroid or other glands

Would like to eliminate any trouble with your small intestine

Enhance your Fame gua using objects that represent wood or fire energy. These include the colors red, green and blue; lights, candles and electrical items; people and animals or pictures and symbols of people and animals; triangles, pyramids and cone shapes; fresh plants, flowers and floral fabrics. Diamonds and diamond shapes work wonders here also. You can take a square pillow and create a diamond shape by placing the pillow on the diagonal. You can also include objects or symbols that that represent how you would like to be known. You have a lot of choice when it comes to enhancing any gua. Have fun with it. Be creative.

Doing something as simple as placing a vase of fresh, red flowers in this area, with intention, can do wonders for your reputation and visibility. A sunrise or image of the sun is also a wonderful enhancement to the Fame gua.

Remember that as you work to consciously shift any area of your life, you can work with the specific gua in your house, your land, any or every room in your house, any tabletop or desktop and even your car. You have a lot of opportunity!

Regardless of what you do, maintaining your space in excellent condition helps your life to flow more easily. Everything is energy and your space is a mirror of your inner self. It reflects deeply held beliefs and patterns back to you.

So, look around your space and consider the messages you are sending as you cast your light into the world. When your space is clean, has clutter-free energy and is enhanced according to your intention, you may be delighted with the outcome.
