Can happiness be found over the rainbow?

The theme to that lovely songSomewhere Over the Rainbow that Judy Garland sings as she plays Dorothy inThe Wizard of Oz is about where she thinks her dreams and happiness will be found. Happiness and dreams to her lie on the other side of the rainbow. Like Dorothy, there are people who think that if they can just get over the rainbow, life will be happy. Or if they can get to the other side of the mountain, the grass on the other side, the next milestone in their lifethat they will reach their dreams.

Do you know people like that? Always thinking that their happiness and their dreams lie somewhere out there? Or that the bluebird of happiness will somehow, someday bestow upon them happiness if they try hard enough, work hard enough, do the right things, play the right game?

What is the real truth? The truth is that we need to be happy where we are and not expect that happiness is on the other side of the rainbow.

Be happy with what you have in your life. I am not saying that you should stop seeking to improve or better yourself for your own benefit and that of your family. You want to have goals and dreams.

However, of you will focus on being happy with what you have, you will be much happier in life you will not be chasing rainbows and will be able to see and appreciate them when they do show up.

Abe Lincoln said,Most people are about as happy as they make their minds up to be.
You can shift your attitude by making a list of all the things that make you happy in this moment.

Rainbows usually only last for a short time and they must be enjoyed in the moments they exist.

Happiness can be found where you are right now.
